I saw the prompt of writing about myths and legends, so chose some of the characters known in mythology as Fearsome Critters to tell a made-up tale about trouble in a glade somewhere, where some are trying to rule over others.
A very quick tale it is too, performed with the tenor ukulele, and with a little solo introduction at the beginning. Quiet vocal because it was late at home!
Flittericks are flying through the trees and dropping stones
To protect their good friends, the Sidehill Dodgers
From the Gumberhoos and Furry Trouts, wretched as they are
Who wanted to control all the glade’s lodgers.
The Splintercats, though powerful, they just liked the Calm
Of tweeting birds and the slow running stream
So, with the Digmaul and Jackalope to strengthen their number
The Gumberhoos and Furry Trouts were forced to leave.
Happiness returned to the Glade
Happiness returned to the Glade.
